WWIII 1987 East Med Shootout Scenario Now Available

Morning, everyone. The WWIII scenario Eastern Mediterranean Shootout has been posted on the Matrix Games forum in the CMO/Mods and Scenarios section. I’ll include a link below. If anyone has trouble accessing the site or scenario file please let me know and I’ll try to work it out while underway if possible. Otherwise it will have to wait until I get back. Like I said yesterday I expect to be able to respond to comments at least once or twice while at sea.

  1. While visiting the Southampton area, check out Lepe Country park where you will be delighted to find Stone Point ROC Post ( restored ) open to visitors; to look inside there’s a periscope that looks down into the ROC’s posts nuclear monitoring room; to see what it was like during the Cold War years ( this being just one of 872 such ROC posts dotted about the British Isles ). Here’s the link about the ROC post in Lepe Country Park that also contains a short video about it’s restoration. https://www.hants.gov.uk/thingstodo/countryparks/lepe/explore/ROC-Underground-Monitoring-Post Also of interest near Lepe park is RAF Hythe ( now called Hythe Marine Park ) the last US Army installation in the UK that remained active for some time after the Cold War until Sept 2006. https://www.stripes.com/news/raf-hythe-army-s-last-u-k-post-slated-to-close-its-doors-1.50583 and here’s the Hythe Marine Park link. http://www.adamshendry.co.uk/hythe-marine-park/

    1. I really wish I had the time to explore Southampton after reading this. Next trip, I will for sure. We arrive tomorrow morning and I’m going to head up to Lakenheath and explore some old haunts before flying back from Heathrow on Sunday. But I’ll be back in the springtime and will definitely set time aside to explore Southampton
