The situation in Moscow remains a mystery to much of the outside world. Soviet television and radio are off the air and most newspapers have not released new issues for two days now. There is still no official word from the Soviet government, however, additional Red Army units were spotted moving into the city earlier today. The State Department has said it is in continuous contact with the US embassy in Moscow. President Reagan has joined the chorus of world leaders concerned about what is taking place in Moscow and is calling on Soviet General Secretary to show himself in public amid rising speculation that he has been removed from power. Gorbachev has not been seen or heard from since the 17th.
